Airtightness Testing

Airtightness testing may seem like an unusual approach but the way air moves through a building often contributes more to the energy efficiency of that building than the insulation values of your walls and windows. The more cold air coming in and warm air escaping is controlled the greater the leap of progress in minimising wasted heat energy and lowering fuel bills – for all types of property.

To perform an air-tightness test, all of the intended apertures in your building are sealed up and air is simply pumped in through the front door. Where this air escapes is then recorded and steps can be made to prevent the loss.
