Display Energy Certificate Service in Bristol, UK![]() A Display Energy Certificate (DEC) assesses the operational usage of public buildings. However, a public building which has a high EPC rating is not guaranteed to be energy efficient. This is because an EPC provides indication of the potential for energy efficiency and carbon emissions whilst a Display Energy Certificate (DEC) assesses the actual energy-efficiency of those who manage and use the building. If operation of the building is unnecessarily wasteful then the energy efficiency performance of the building is unlikely to reach its potential. By inspecting your building, using detailed operational rating software and undertaking inspections of your air conditioning and heating systems, one of our assessors can evaluate the Asset and Operational ratings of your building’s energy efficiency before issuing the certificate. Along with the certificate, you will be given an advisory report detailing the steps you need to take in order to increase the operational energy efficiency of your building. This advisory report is valid for seven years and should be kept on file. The Display Energy certificate is valid for one year and should be on display at all times. Failure to meet these requirements can result in a fine of up to £5,000. More often than not, Darren Evans can save you money on your energy bills using simple but effective measures.
